The School of Engineering has a specialized structural test facility referred to as Applied Laboratory for Advanced Materials & Structures (ALAMS).  This is the largest laboratory on campus measuring 6418 sq. ft. (599 m2) with a 3 story ceiling that contains a specialized reaction floor.  The laboratory has a large variety of a testing equipment, actuators, and apparatuses that include:

  • 500 kN Load Frame / Fatigue Tester
  • Four 250 kN (250 mm stroke) MTS Actuators
  • 500kN (930 mm stroke) FPS Actuator
  • 3000 kN Compression Tester
  • Freeze/Thaw Cabinet
  • Impact Tester
  • 3 National Interments DAQ Systems
  • 15 Linear Displacement Transducers (LVDT)
  • Several Load Cells Ranging From (100N to 2000kN)
  • An assortment of Non-Destructive Testing Equipments
