Jie Shen
Dr. Jie Shen is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UBC. He received his M.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Southeast University, China, and his PhD from Kyoto University, Japan. He has published 16 papers in SCI journals (9 as first or corresponding author) and delivered presentations at international conferences, receiving two Outstanding Presentation Awards. He serves as a frequent reviewer for leading journals including Engineering Structures, Journal of Building Engineering, and Journal of Bridge Engineering, and has participated in six research projects funded in China, Japan, and Canada.

- Seismic resilience assessment of isolated highway bridges under low-temperature conditions
- Thermo-mechanical coupled constitutive models for rubber isolation bearings
- Seismic performance of CFRP-grid- and ECC-reinforced concrete shear walls
- Data-driven and physics-informed prediction of structural responses
